DRINKmaple provides immediate impact in Vanuatu

On March 13th and 14th, a category five system hit the Pacific archipelago of Vanuatu, flattening large swathes of the country with winds of up to 270 kilometres per hour – it has been regarded as one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the small South Pacific region.

Cyclone Pam decimated the homes of thousands of people leaving an estimated 150,000 people (75,000 children) homeless and without access to food and clean water – in fact many families have been forced to drink water straight from the ocean out of desperation.

Thanks to our partnership with DRINKmaple, MORE Than Sport has responded by deploying clean water solutions in Vanuatu to over 3,700 individuals who will collectively receive at least 20,000 gallons of clean water a day.

THAT EQUATES TO CLEAN WATER FOR LIFE FOR 740 FAMILIES.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank DRINKmaple for their generous support as relief efforts continue throughout the region.

MORE Than Sport + DRINKmaple

From April 2015, each bottle sold by DRINKmaple will supply 200 gallons of clean water solutions to individuals in a number of developing nations and in response to disaster.

“As athletes, we are all keenly aware of how critical proper hydration is to sporting success. But for over 2 billion people around the world, simply having access to clean water is a daily burden and a literal matter of life or death. We are thrilled to be partnering with DRINKmaple to help those less fortunate through the power of sport! Every purchase does MORE for someone in need and we are humbled to be part of that process.” – Chris Lieto

“Our thoughts are with the people of Vanuatu as they are recovering and rebuilding their lives from the devastating cyclone which hit their community. Access to clean water is one of the most basic needs for human survival. We are proud to provide the people of Vanuatu with access to safe, clean water as they begin to rebuild their lives,” said Kate Weiler, Co-Founder Drinkmaple
