The Virtual Climb for Nepal – Introducing #vEveresting
#Everesting and Climb for Nepal have come together in the past few weeks to raise exceptional funds and see some fantastic athletes compete the grueling climb to 8,848 meters. For the first time ever, the feat will be attempted VIRTUALLY by Frank Garcia.
First on Frank’s agenda, however (before the physical and mental challenge) is his passion and commitment to helping others and supporting the Climb for Nepal. To sweeten the pot, his company, Cycligent, has agreed to match any donations made to support his #vEveresting journey in the Climb for Nepal initiative up to $5,000. Donate here!
Using the gamified and social platform Zwift and a set of tools approved for use by Zwift and Hells500, Frank has been preparing for the journey by using the platform to compete virtually with other cyclists from around the world. With a 37 year history of competitive cycling under his belt, Frank is excited to take on a new challenge (even though his wife is challenging his sanity!). The team at Hells500 have come up with a new set of rules for the virtual Everesting challenge for any others that would like to also compete and participate virtually in the Climb for Nepal.
Although Frank will be in the comfort of his own home, it will not help him to escape the mental and physical exhaustion his mind and body will endure. Frank’s journey begins at 4:00 a.m. PST(worldtimebuddy.com) and should take about 20 hours to complete. You can follow Frank on Zwift at “F.Garcia Everesting”.
